Nick Walker fans took it too far after Derek wiped the floor with The Mutant at the illustrious 2025 IFBB Pro League Pittsburgh Pro. Walker fans took to social media, heckling former Mr. O Derek Lunsford and it couldn’t have come at a worse time.
But the question remains, do competitors have a moral obligation to keep their fans from going too far when commenting on their rivals social media postings? And what constitutes too far? That, too, is a higly subjective question. Once athletes start dictating how their fans should comport themselves, then I think it become a slippery slope.
That said, I think we can all agree that Nick Walker is an asshole, but is he responsible for how badly his fans treated Lunsford? That’s a question I don’t really feel comfortable answering. There are just way too many variables. Besides, what fans do or don’t do is all on them. You have nice fans, malicious fans, and of course you have trolls. Trolls are just in it for the lulz. They’re not loyal to anyone.
So what’s your take on the matter? Do competitors owe each other a duty with regards to what their fans do? YOU DECIDE. And as always, thanks for stopping by StrengthAddicts.com !!
