First and foremost, it’s important that you understand no one actually believes that Lunsford is smoking rock, but we’re using it as a homage, a throwback to when The Big Nasty asked if Jay Cutler was smoking crack on international television at the mere suggestion that he could topple the G.O.A.T. It was classic. So in that spirit it’s that we ask if Derek is smoking a boulder off aluminum foil in an abandoned Walmart parking lot. LOL
Derek’s a cool little guy and he’s trying to make things interesting. That said, I don’t think him trash talking Andrew Jacked was any more staged than when he talked trash to Nick Walker and didn’t want to share more than one or two picture frames with him before he started complaining about having to essentially collab with him.
Derek’s towers over five feet of pure alpha. He cut his teeth on enough tough placings and now he just doesn’t give a fuck. But it’s that kind of don’t give a fuck that’s cool. You know what I mean? It just makes him look insecure and petty in my book.
I mean if he was being a tool to Martin, for example, that might be more in the entertainment/staged category. Martin is a TOP TOP guy, he’s a TOP 5 guy – that spells danger for any reigning Mr. O. That said, is he a TOP 3 guy? I would say YES, but I think Derek might still put him in that 4-5 spot. What does that mean? It means that he’d be on notice around Martin, but he might think he can still comfortably beat him. In that case, I would say it would be staged. With Hadi, Andrew, or Samson, however, I’d say not only would it not be staged, but it might give his us the truest glimpse into the most unfiltered, raw, uncensored in Derek Lunsford’s soul. What I saw – that – wasn’t staged.
In my opinion, my strong-gut-opinion would be that Derek really doesn’t like Andrew. He didn’t like him in that Top 3 last year in Vegas, and I can only BANK ON THE FACT HIS BLOOD WAS PROBABLY BOILING WHEN ANDREW WON IN COLUMBUS. I’d bet the hair that’s not on my head, that DEREK can’t stand Andrew for that. I don’t he personally dislikes Andrew. It’s worse. I think he’s TERRIFIED of what ANDREW will do a the Olympia and he just can’t help but lash out at the guy.
Meanwhile Andrew is more indifferent. I think he was trying play along with the little guy and gave me something to work with.
Who knows? The real take-home message here is that Derek is small. (J/k Bro LOL, ROLMFAO).
