It’s been eight long years since the initial run of IronMagTV went off air. It’s been said that we grew too fast. We started out with a core of shows, then added more. Towards the end, we had a catalog that would make your head spin, but our audiences just got bigger and bigger. One show in particular that we all loved was Beast Coast LIVE (or simply “BCL“) hosted by Chris “The Goon” Griffin and “Big” Mike Cox.
Back then we didn’t have a producer and we were far more DIY than most shows and just sort of winged it. Nonetheless, we put out really great content with a really good graphics done by Nadeem Nirvana. The Goon and BMC were part of one of those core shows that people loved to watch. And on the top of that it was on a live setting. It’s one thing to pre-record and have a skilled producer like Johnny Styles doing his magic, but it’s quite another to do it in real time. There are no second or third takes on a live setting. That said, all the core guys had a live show (Frank, Gregg, & the BCL crew).
Since regrouping and relaunching IronMagTV.com in mid-February 2026, it’s been my goal to bring back the original four horsemen. This illustrious group consisted of yours truly (the bad guy, manager, now program director) and the three guys who I believe are among the best of the best when it comes to hosting shows and talking bodybuilding. It’s really four guys, including BMC, but I’m not sure if he’ll return to the network or not. That said, this was a major reunion.
Chris Griffin is a powerhouse when it comes to bodybuilding. I first met him back at the MD forums and I knew immediately that I wanted him involved with IMTV. His knowledge of performance enhancing drugs is second to none. He’s competed in the past and he coaches, but he’s more than a coach. Nowadays, everyone calls themselves “a guru.” Although Chris could totally use that to describe himself, I doubt he ever would. I think he’s more about letting the results speak for themselves than doing like the others and marketing himself with sensational catchphrases. The fact of the matter is that bodybuilding is inundated with charlatans. Chris Griffin is the real deal.
To see Chris back in the mix with Frank and Gregg is pretty damn cool!! These guys hit the ground running with maybe just a few minutes worth of pre-production. That says a lot because while these guys formed part of the initial core of IronMagTV, this lineup never would’ve happened in the old days.
For example, Frank had his own show (5 Cents), Gregg had 2-3 shows (all on his own), and Chris had two shows. Initially, there was Down ‘n Dirty with The Goon and then there was Beast Coast LIVE which featured Chris and BMC. To this day, I’m not exactly sure why Chris shelved DND, but that was entirely his call. I think he wanted to focus all his attention on the show with BMC and make it as successful as possible. To the best of my recollection, BCL was the only two-man show on IMTV network.
Towards the middle to the end of their run, BCL started having some pretty big-name guests. I believe Chris may have been a guest on one of Gregg’s shows, but to have all three of these guys (Gregg, Frank, and Chris) on one show back then would’ve been unheard of. It never would have happened. That’s all the more reason you don’t want to miss Episode 15 of No Holds Barred! It’s a MUST-WATCH!!
My hope is to have Chris back on IMTV. We all miss BMC, but he’s doing great work with Ron Harris and beyond that I don’t know what will happen. I’m not sure if we’ll see a BCL reunion anytime soon, but perhaps Chris will return with a new show. There’s a lot being talked about. We’ve been talking for months now, but it’s different now than in years past. IMTV, as of June 2026, has a dedicated website and YouTube channel. We have funding. It also has a marquee show with 15 episodes, an extremely talented and well-known producer, and a program director who looks strikingly like Senator John Fetterman (lol).
Only time will tell when it happens, but we hope it’s sooner than later to have Chris back on the air with IronMagTV!! This is home and we have plenty to do in the future. There’s a lot of nonsense, not to mention downright stupidity, circulating in the world of bodybuilding and fitness. We need a truly outspoken, courageous, and knowledgeable guy like THE GOON to call bullshit when needed! But also to show people THE RIGHT WAY to eating, lifting, and being the best physique-based athletes, possible!!
