Christian Duque: Welcome to StrengthAddicts.com, please take this opportunity to
introduce yourself (name, age, ht, wt [contest and regular], hometown, and home gym.

Thalita Pascual: My name is Thalita Pascual, I'm 30 years old, 5'1 and my stage weight is
104 lbs. I was born and raised in
Brazil, but live in New York City the place I consider home. I
belong to NYSC but because I'm also a trainer I don't always workout there. I attend in many
different spots in the city, so I'm in a different gym everyday.


Christian Duque: Talk to us about when and why you first started weight-training? Is the gym
an escape for you, is it a place to have fun, or is it just what it is - a place to train hard?

Thalita Pascual: I started competing last April, and what got me started was more for a
personal challenge of "getting fit", then I just felt in love with the sport and decided to pursue
it. I'm addicted to the gym, so to me is a place where I have fun but also is a sacred place.


Christian Duque: Talk to us about being a competitive bikini athlete. What federation do you
compete with, how many contests have you done, and what inspired you to compete in the
first place?

Thalita Pascual: I'm an NPC Nationally Qualified Competitor. I can't compete in Nationals yet
because I'm Brazilian and not an american citizen.
So for now I can only do regional shows.
I've done 5 so far. Total of 2 overall wins, one 1st Place, one 4th Place and one 5th Place.

Christian Duque: I think a lot of people still don't realize the type of training bikini
competitors realize in the gym. Talk to us about what your workout split looks like each week?
Do you much cardio or group classes in the gym?

Thalita Pascual: Well, when it comes to training people don't realize that everyone is a
different individual. So you can't do the cookie cutter style and say, this is for bikini
competitors. Because I'm a trainer, I train myself and don't follow a plan. I usually divide my
training by muscle groups and will do  a HIIT cardio after that.
I'm fortunate enough that I
don't have to do much cardio,
so usually no longer than 40 min during prep.
